Western coalition struck Sunday civilian and military areas in Tripoli, said a military official quoted by Libyan Libyan television. Witnesses confirmed to AFP that "an air raid targeted the road from the airport (10 km from the capital), and the area of Ain Zara"14 miles east of downtown Tripoli. According to these witnesses, intensive shelling of DCA were heard in both sectors. They could not say what positions weretargeted. Planes also flew Sirte, Colonel Qaddafi's hometown, on Sunday evening,between Tripoli and Benghazi. An AFP journalist was soon heard two loud explosions20h in the city. The air defense has not come into action in Sirte, Colonel Qaddafi's hometown and next target of the insurgency Libya after two days of rapid progresswestward.
